Painting is one of the last steps in the manufacturing process of a product. This stage of the process is particularly important, whether it is in powder or liquid form, the paint coating provides the product with the following functions:
- Anti-corrosion protection
- Aesthetics (RAL, gloss, texture, effects…)
- Specific properties (anti-graffiti, temperature resistance, UV resistance…)

Mastered technologies
Within the Groupe AIM, we master powder and liquid painting technologies.
Powder painting:
The coating is obtained by electrostatic projection of powder followed by polymerisation of the film in a baking oven. The principle consists of spraying the powder painting onto the metal parts with a gun and then passing them through an oven to fuse the paint onto the part.
Powder coating has several advantages:
- It contains no VOCs or solvents, which is both economically and environmentally beneficial.
- Our various automatic lines allow us to optimise production times
Liquid painting:
The coating is obtained by applying a liquid painting with a spray gun followed by drying in an oven or in the open air.
This second type of coating also has many advantages:
- A method of application allowing a high degree of precision and less airborne emissions
- Flexibility of the process suited to small quantities due to reduced drying time
- A wide variety of colours

After analysing the specifications, we are able to guide the customer towards the most suitable solution, whether in terms of surface preparation or paint coating.
Depending on the required anti-corrosion protection, we offer the appropriate painting system (surface preparation and treatment, single-coat, primer + finish, cataphoresis + finish, etc.) on automatic lines or manual booths.
A wide choice of topcoats is also available.
The diversity of our installations (automated lines, manual conveyor) allows us to respond to different requests in terms of part dimensions or batch sizes.
We are also able to offer additional coating solutions via a network of surface treatment partners (anodising, chromating, zinc plating, etc.)
