New opportunities for TDM

In 2024, our subsidiary TDM reached a significant milestone in its development by establishing a new partnership with Mont Blanc. Renowned for manufacturing and marketing vehicle attachment systems such as roof racks and tow bars, Mont Blanc chose us for the transfer of its press activities from its factory in Sweden to Romania. This partnership, named project “TAMPA,” was made possible by the growth of TDM’s activities and the expertise of our technicians.

As part of the TAMPA project, we already received six tools to be adapted on our recently acquired 315-ton press. This press is specially designed for this type of production and will allow the manufacturing of about a hundred different references for Mont Blanc Brasov, located near our factory in Romania. The transfer of the equipment is underway, with initial validations completed and series deliveries scheduled for June 2024.

In parallel, Mont Blanc also entrusted us with the manufacturing of three new parts for their “T-Line” project. The tooling for this project is being carried out by a local partner and should be transferred to us in June as well.

To ensure that these new projects are integrated optimally, we took the initiative to enhance the skills of seven technicians in partnership with the French organization AFPIDEM. This training aimed to develop our employees, making them more capable of handling new technical requirements and production challenges.

This training allowed the team to improve their skills in:

  • The operation of various components of an automatic press and associated peripherals.
  • The role of tool components, essential for understanding mechanics and necessary adjustments.
  • The creation of adjustment sheets by analyzing the tools, providing precise and useful documentation for daily operations.
  • The adjustment of cams and other influencing parameters, thus optimizing production for maximum efficiency.

A stamping expert also contributed his expertise for five days, identifying several areas for improvement and providing practical solutions to our technicians. This intervention was particularly appreciated and allowed our employees to significantly deepen their technical knowledge.

Thanks to this training, our technicians now perfectly master TDM’s machine park and are equipped to handle new technical requirements, thus optimizing production processes. This skill enhancement has been an asset in realizing the project with Mont Blanc.

Mont Blanc’s confidence is promising for future collaborations. We are better prepared to meet our clients’ needs and to evolve in the cutting, stamping, and sheet metal industry in the Eastern European market.
