New investments at the AIMM site

At the beginning of this year, the AIMM site in Laval integrated two new machines: a 220-ton, 4-meter-long Amada bending machine, and an ABB MAG welding robot station.

The new bending machine enhances our machine park to increase our production capacity and anticipate the retirement of aging presses. It allows the production of large parts up to 12mm thick thanks to support arms that automatically hold the piece during bending, thus easing the operators’ workload.

The hydraulic system of this machine optimizes energy consumption, increases productivity, and reduces noise levels. It is also equipped with a new automatic lower apron deformation device, improving bending precision. Additionally, the machine features an advanced user interface that facilitates programming and reduces setup time for production runs.

The new welding robot increases our production capacity by relieving the load on the other robots. It is equipped with:

  • 2 workstations, allowing the setup of components while the robot is welding.
  • A 6-axis welding arm with a 2-meter reach.

This welding robot is designed to handle parts weighing between 250 and 5,000 kg. With this equipment, all parts produced on the 5 AIMM welding robots can be made on this new robot. It is also equipped with advanced position and weld quality detection technologies, ensuring uniform and high-quality welds. The integration of these new machines is part of our continuous improvement and technological innovation approach. It allows us to meet our clients’ demands for quality and delivery times more effectively. Our operators were trained on these new machines upon their arrival to ensure optimal use of this equipment.

These technologies enhance our market competitiveness and strengthen our position as a leader in the manufacture of high-precision metal parts. We are confident that these investments will yield results in terms of customer satisfaction and future growth.
