New automatic press for the AIMM site
This year, the AIMM site will be equipped with a new AIDA brand 630 T automatic press. In order to be able to respond to new customer assignments, it has been necessary to expand the AIMM capacity, since its production capability was going to be exceeded as of June 2022.
This investment satisfies a number of goals:
- To expand the Group’s press capacity and thus increase production volumes
- Ensure the capture of new markets in this segment in line with our new strategic business development plan
- Avoid the saturation of plant equipment.
The new plant is able to work aluminum from 0.5 to 4 mm and HLE steel from 0.8 to 3 mm, with a strip width of 1000mm. This press comes as an addition to our 400 T and 800 T presses and robotic transfer and helps meet the needs of METASEVAL.
The arrival of this press necessitates major work, however, which will be spread over the whole of 2022:
- January 2022: launch of investment
- April 2022: relocation of recovered presses
- July – August 2022: civil engineering work
- October – December 2022: assembly and commissioning of press for end of December 2022.
We are at the start of a major new project for AIMM. We look forward to seeing the new press up and running at the end of the year.
