Groupe AIM increases machine stock

2022 was marked by strong growth in our industrial sheet metal work business, with the strengthening of our collaboration with existing customers as well as the addition of new customers.

In view of this increase in activity, an industrial plan was drawn up for the different production sites to enable us to respond to customer growth. In addition to the five automated cutting units recently installed, several investments have been made in the folding sector, not only to enhance our machine stock but also to automate our processes.

Over the last six months, we have acquired a total of six press brakes across Groupe AIM:

  • The STSM site has been equipped with a latest generation AMADA press brake with a sheet follower to assist the operator with heavy parts.
  • TDM has acquired a press brake similar to that at STSM, enabling the TDM site to start up in the sheet metal business. Providing a four-meter table and a capacity of 220 tons, the investment facilitates the production of large parts. Specific training for the new plant is provided for the employees.
  • The AIMB site in Lannion has invested in two bending machines: the first is an AMADA press brake equipped with an auto grip tool holder, an integrated bend sensor and an automatic slide foot pedal that moves according to the operator’s position. It helps reduce manual handling of tools, reduce scrap and increase the diversity of the products. The second is an RAS flat bending machine: this equipment increases the capacity and speed of the bending sector, raises the quality of the parts and reduces physical constraints.
  • At the end of 2022, ADELMA received a new 130 ton AMADA press brake with digital touchscreen control to complete the stock of press brakes on the site. This investment included the training of the ADELMA teams.
  • Finally, the Fab’Academy has also received a bending machine for the purpose of training our seven work-study technician-operators. This machine has been lent by AMADA to allow the apprentices to become operational during their training period.

This new equipment serves to strengthen our industrial capacity, thus enabling us to offer our customers the best possible production solutions.
