ONE-YEAR REVIEW WITH MINIWATT
It’s already been one year since the MniWatt project was launched within the Groupe AIM. The results for this first year are very encouraging, thanks to everyone’s participation.
For an equivalent plant load, the energy consumption savings were as follows at the end of October 2023:
Total energy (kWh): – 10% in 2023 versus 2019
Electricity (kWh): – 5.8% in 2023 versus 2019
Gas (kWh):- 13.2% in 2023 versus 2029
Effective collective action was apparent in 2023, particularly through eco-friendly practices, but also through significant investments (close to €500 K), as follows:
- Switching to LED on all sites (Otima, Metaseval, STSM, IVA)
- Insulating critical points on our heated processes (IVA)
- Installing new compressors with variable speed drives (TDM, IVA)
- Installing electrical metering (Otima)
- Installing new sectional doors (Otima, IVA)
- Replacing outdated heating systems (IVA)
Miniwatt will continue in 2024 for a number of reasons. Firstly, energy price pressures persist, and our future competitiveness hinges on this. Secondly, our clients expect a great deal from the Group and their expectations are ambitious and demanding. Finally, the Group intends to adopt a sustainable approach to this issue and to the challenges facing society in general.
At the end of the year, energy audits were also carried out at three of our sites (AIMM, Otima and Métaseval). They highlighted some serious avenues for improvement over the coming year, which will enable us to pursue the progress already made across all our sites.
